Harpist Sanni Korpelainen

Sanni Korpelainen (b.1997, Hyvinkää, Finland) began her music studies at the age of 0 in ballet school and kantele class. At 7 she started harp lessons with Hanna Kenttämies and Pauliina Kallio.

She began working with Hyvinkää orchestra in Finland at the age of 14 and since then has been working regularly with several professional orchestras including Finnish National Opera and Ballet orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Tampere Philharmonic, Turku Philharmonic, Helsingborg’s Symphony Orchestra, Bergen filharmoniske orkester, Lapland chamber orchestra, Avanti chamber orchestra, Sinfonia Lahti, Jyväskylä sinfonia, Oulu sinfonia, Ostrobothnian chamber orchestra, Vaasa -, Kuopio -, Joensuu -, Seinäjoki – and Lohja city orchestras as well as with all the Finnish professional Military and Navy bands including The Representative Orchestra of the President of the Republic of Finland; the Guards Band.

She has performed as the young soloist of Hyvinkää orchestra in 2014, young soloist of Bulevardens kammermusiksällskap in 2015 and in 2018 as the soloist of Helsinki NMKY orchestra and Tapiola sinfonietta.

Currently Sanni is finishing her Master of music diploma in harp, electric harp and pedagogy with professor Päivi Severeide and visiting professor Emmanuel Ceysson at the Sibelius Academy of University of Arts in Helsinki. She has also studied as an exchange student with professor Arielle Valibouse in KASK & Royal Conservatorium School of Arts Ghent in Belgium and specialized in orchestra performance with professor Erik Groenestein-Hendriks in Högskolan för scen och musik Göteborg.

The Finnish Paulo foundation has supported her studies with 3.000€ grant in 2020 and Hyvinkää city has awarded her as the Young Artist of the Year in 2014.
